Styles

Doors come in all sorts of styles and sizes. In simple terms, doors can be broken down into a few specific types. You do not necessarily have to have these exact styles, but they give a good idea of the types of door available. Once you know what style of door you need, there are a lot more decisions to make such as the size, the panel configuration, the colour, the type of glass, and the amount of glass. Common door styles include;

Single Door

A single door is usually installed as either a front or back door. You can opt to either have full glass from top to bottom, split the door by having a panelled bottom and glass top, or even a full panel. For examples of full panels please have a browse of the panels sub section.

French Doors

When you need usable wall space as well as a large opening there's no better solution than a traditional pair of French doors. They can be hung to open either inwards or outwards.

Single Door with Side Screen

This setup is basically the same as a single door except that a fixed side panel is ajoined to the door frame, either on one or both sides. This is often a solution to front doors where the cavity opening is very wide. You can opt to either have full glass from top to bottom, split the door and side screen by having a panelled bottom and glass top, or even a full panel with side panel to match. For examples of full panels please have a browse of the panels sub section.

Patio/Tilt and Side Doors

Let the outside in with a patio or tilt and slide door. Their ultra smooth operation creates the largest possible opening for a door. You can opt for a straightforward sliding patio door where there is one fixed glazed panel, with a sliding door on the other side. Or alternatively you may prefer a tilt and slide combination which is very similar to a normal patio door, except when in the closed position you have the option of tilting the door inwards.
